 TMI is looking for a Graphic Designer to add to our team!

Performs professional quality graphic design and visual information production for Agency requirements. “Design” includes the artistic skill to develop inventive and imaginative ideas to create high quality, visually appealing, original art work from rough concept to highly refined finished product, both in printed and digital formats. Applies creative and professional expertise to design products for printing on high-end digital color printers and large format plotter / printers.

  Required hardware and software capabilities include expertise to fully utilize Windows 10 O/S on high-end PC workstations employing:
  Adobe CC Master Collection graphic design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, LiveCycle Designer ES4, etc.) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).

Finished products are output in a variety of formats requiring knowledge and skills to fully utilize Xerox C75 / Xerox Versant 180 digital color presses and various binding, punching and cropping devices; large format printing using Epson and HP large format plotters; DVD replication and label printing using Primera Bravo series replicators; and badge printing using Fargo DTC series printers.

The graphic design staff will also provide (limited) ancillary photography support to supplement primary photographers/videographers in meeting efficiencies and emerging Agency requirements. 

The Graphic Designer must be able to deliver services in creating inventive, original art work and imaginative concepts for composite imagery used in high volume printing, large format printing, and digital display.  The Graphic Designer will create and deliver products (designs) that incorporate a variety of visually aesthetic styles and inventive techniques including creative typography to produce imaginative visual representations of ideas and messages that are legible, professional and effective in communicating specific ideas.

  This person will also provide graphic design services to include, but not be limited to:
creation of original artwork, design and layout support; text processing; page mark-up; graphic scanning, MDA forms development; large and small format printing; sign making; mounting and laminating; and any other creative design support.

The Graphic Designer must also be able to provide services utilizing the Adobe CC Master Collection graphic design software package and Microsoft Office on a Windows platform.  This position requires the designing of products for high volume printing, large format printing, and digital display.  The software will be made available to the contractor, but remain accountable to the Government.  The equipment shall be considered incidental to the place of performance; accountability remains with the Government.

The Graphic Designer will provide coordination for print requests to identify requirements, scheduling, quality control checking, and efficient production steps. 

This person will also utilize digital color press printing methodology, file preparation, efficient use of dedicated front-end raster image processors (RIPs), job cueing, PDF file format efficiencies and document finishing configuration (automatic punching, binding, folding, etc.) to produce executive-level products.

   The government furnished equipment to produce these products include:
Xerox C75 / Xerox Versant 180 digital color presses, Fiery EFI Front end processors, and various binding, punching and cropping devices. Must be eligible for Top Secret personnel security clearance.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma with 5 years’ experience providing graphic design, illustration and production on a DoD or commercial contract OR
  •  Associates degree in graphic arts discipline with 3 years’ experience providing graphic design, illustration and production on a DoD or commercial contract. OR
  • BA/BS in graphic arts discipline with 1 years’ experience providing graphic design, illustration and production on a DoD or commercial contract.
