My story
Hi everyone! My name is Heidi. I am a very happy and sweet medium-sized German Shepherd mix. I weigh about 66 lbs, am about 2 years old, and have medium to high energy. I come from Arkansas where I was picked up as a stray. No one ever claimed me and I have been waiting for a family since August of last year. I just moved to Colorado and I love it at my foster home! I am a good loyal girl. I’m very bright, active, sweet, and cuddly. I love to learn and already know “sit” “down” and “shake”. I would love to learn more! I get along with all the other dogs in my foster home. I’m very interested in cats and it’ll depend a bit on the cat whether I will get along well. If the cat is a runner, I will likely chase it. I did my first walk on a leash here in CO today and did well. I am house-trained and have had zero accidents in the house since my arrival. I am very friendly with people, just need to learn that not everyone wants hugs! I sleep in a crate at night. I love to play with toys and other dogs, and I need to get my nose in the fresh air regularly. I love to play with water! Since I am an active dog, I am looking for a home with an active person or family. Preferably a home with a yard, with or without another dog. If I’m the only dog I’ll need to be kept busy with play and activities. I will make a great hiking or running buddy.
