The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Kelsey and I am a sweet senior Japanese Chin lady who is 11 years old, and I weigh 13 pounds. I was adopted from BRAS 11 years ago when I was a little baby, and I was released because I have a cleft lip. This has never caused an issue. My mommy and daddy got a divorce and I found myself alone all the time because they had to work so they finally did the right thing and returned me to BRAS so they could find me the perfect home to live out my life. I love people, get along well with other dogs and my dad says I am pee pad trained, but we will not guarantee that in a new environment. Unfortunately, I had been shaved so I am not at my best right now but my beautiful tri-colored coat will grow back out. I need a quiet environment in an all-adult home where I will now get all the attention and love that I have missed. If you have been waiting for a, please ask for me on your application to Love, Kelsey 103011-06  May 17, 2022, 6:39 pm
