My story
Hello, my name is Sasha, and I'd like to introduce myself. I'm in the Safe Place program because like most all Safe Place pets, my prior owner passed. Her close friend took me in with every intention of adopting me, but I didn't get along with her three other cats and two dogs. So now I'm in foster with one of the Safe Place volunteers. I'm in a small room, but I have a soft bed to lie on and a cat tree in front of a window where I can look out on the yard, so I'm content.
As for my personality, I'm not a lap cat, more of what another Safe Place volunteer calls a "sidecar cat. I like to be close to my person, but not on them. I adore being petted, especially under my chin and jaw and behind my ears. Those are nothing unusual, but unlike many cats, I really enjoy belly rubs. You'll get no belly trap from me! What you will get as soon as I see you is a loud purr. I really love people!
I mentioned that I didn't get along with the pets in my 'first second home. My current foster has two cats, and our few meetings have ended in hissing and growling matches. But she would really like to give me the run of the house and is hoping that with time and patience we might learn to coexist.
You have no doubt noticed that I am 17, so I have to admit that I am unlikely to be a longtime companion. Like so many older (and even younger!) cats, my kidneys aren't doing too well. But if you are willing to take a chance on me, I can promise you a beautiful (if I do say so myself!), loving companion. Just fill out an adoption application, and my foster will get in touch with you in no time to set up a time for us to meet.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sasha, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
